Andy Goldberg ActionCOACH is proud to choose Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland as our nominated charity. We have set an initial target of £50,000 to raise for these amazing children, through the work that we do with local business owners, and here’s why:

For over 55 years Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus (SBH) Scotland have provided a lifetime commitment of support and information to all those affected by the lifelong, complex disabilities of spina bifida, hydrocephalus and related conditions. Their lifeline services are provided free of charge and are not provided by any other voluntary organisation or through the NHS. They are available to anyone affected by the conditions, their family, carers, siblings and education and healthcare professionals.

Each year SBH Scotland’s clinical and family support team provide dedicated services across Scotland including ante-natal information, family support groups, health check clinics, financial and benefits support, personalised support, home and hospital visits, school/nursery talks, social activities, transition support through healthcare and education. Due to Covid-19 their team wasn’t phased and they moved quickly, rearranging how they did things to continue a reliable support service; co-ordinating services so members weren’t left without food and heating, creating a Coronavirus hub and helpline, launching a check-in service, applying for emergency funding and running more groups than ever before in order to reduce isolation and support better mental health.

SBH Scotland’s support costs over £1 million annually and they rely almost solely on trusts, corporate support and individuals to reach their target each year. Andy Goldberg, ActionCOACH is committed to supporting this great charity and with your help we can help continue these vital services to those most in need.
